I, too, love the Kouma packer.

But since the updated CWM now backs up boot and recovery, it is much improved. It also backs up sd-ext. Which the Kouma Packer does not.

I make sure that all apps are internal before doing a Kouma Pack. No sd-ext will get restored, either way. That way all your apps will work from the start.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

I believe using hroarks new kernel and having data on sd I think kuma packer would probably back up the sdext, because it thinks its internal /data

but that you would want to test as long as the new cwm backs up /boot and recovery as well as the rest its a moot point it will do what you want and just have the kuma pack for a triple redundancy on your computer.

the kernel settings only takes effect when you boot into Android

it has not effect when you but into Odin mode or CWM

Odin mode does not use a kernel, and CWM has its own seperate kernel
 
Hello all.

I need to set my phone back to stock and went to download the cacherfs.zip file and it looks like Megaupload has been nabbed. The link now comes up to a page informing that the domain has been seized by the government. Can some post a new link to the cacherfs.zip for restoring to stock unless its not needed anymore.

After everything else is stock, just do a factory reset in recovery. That'll put you back to RFS

Some of the devs are working on a kernel to support ics. i personally believe that the prevail can run cm9 smoothly but unfortunately i am leaving the prevail community and will not be able to play with cm9 on its release. goodbye everyone :)

Quietstorm is doing some good work on the Warp

I have been helping him a bit

I was thinking about getting a Warp or that new LG, but I already have an EVO 4g, Epic 4G, one good Prevail, and one broken prevail

I may try to sell my Evo 4G and Epic 4G to get some money to get an LG

you might want to let us know if and when you get the marquee; i think boost will get some new sales if you do. I haven't seen a HELP!!! thread in that forum yet. :) i have been looking at the marquee too. But since boost is pushing out more phones, i wonder how long it will be before a dual core comes around.

Yeah. I am in no rush, I want to wait and see what they are gonna come out with, and I dont think I would buy the Marquee at the current price, I would wait untill it drops to 200 or something

dang well I buy cheap screen protectors and cases, I bought my optimus an prevail ones for less then $5.00 even with shipping. and that was combined.

I almost scratched my screen on the optimus, had not even thought of screen protector or case after that I decided to get them.:D
