Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

Some of the devs are working on a kernel to support ics. i personally believe that the prevail can run cm9 smoothly but unfortunately i am leaving the prevail community and will not be able to play with cm9 on its release. goodbye everyone :)

Thanks for your help :D

Quietstorm is doing some good work on the Warp

I have been helping him a bit

I was thinking about getting a Warp or that new LG, but I already have an EVO 4g, Epic 4G, one good Prevail, and one broken prevail

I may try to sell my Evo 4G and Epic 4G to get some money to get an LG

well good luck, our paths shall cross again

Come over to warp! I gave my prevail to the wife when I got the warp, this phone could be a screamer with a little hroark tlc :-)

hroark,

you might want to let us know if and when you get the marquee; i think boost will get some new sales if you do. I haven't seen a HELP!!! thread in that forum yet. :) i have been looking at the marquee too. But since boost is pushing out more phones, i wonder how long it will be before a dual core comes around.

Next week, we're taking Hroark's broken prevail and merge it with his working prevail to make the first dual-core prevail.

we might have to run it off a car battery though

well you guys already have CWM, and Quietstorm is working on CM7

for now I am gonna stick with the Prevail, finish CM7 for it when I have more time, and maybe try to do ICS on it as well

I am kinda of attached to the Prevail, I have learned so much because of this little phone

thanks everyone :)

i was thinking about getting the marque but i noticed that the warp had similar specs and was a lot cheaper $187 on Amazon with free shipping.

and thanks for everthing hroark, Great Job!;)

Put a hinge in the middle between the two, set like a clamshell, and we could have a mini curio tablet. I think a nine-volt battery with a glowing capacitor dangling from the end would be more attractive.

I flashed this eve and cannot connect to wifi

here is the logcat, can anyone help

is this a possible solution? I have no idea how to apply

Wi-Fi : Timed out waiting for dhcpcd to start - android-porting | Google Groups

i did not completely test that ROM, that is a new compile

My build system crashed and I had to re-create everything

If you want a ROM with no Gapps, my suggestion would be to use the beta4 ROM and just edit the zip file and remove the gapp files

I hear ya Hroark... I bought a Transform Ultra for $120 from a friend who went to sprint plan and have been doing some work on it with some other guys in those threads.. Interdpth being one of them. ( working on getting his CM7 modules working) We have a fully working OC kernel running stable and cool at 1.6GHz and "almost stable" 1.9GHz. gets hot if you use it constantly but works fine if your moderate..

But honestly. I haven't activated it yet cause I'm so attached to my prevail with CM7. Thanks to you and everyone else who helped you. and I will never leave these threads. All of you are an awesome community. Been with yall since we got root.

I just jumped into CM7 and brother this thing is so freakin fast lol :D. I cant believe the difference between this and the other roms available. Again all great roms just a different beast! So far it seems to be pretty  stable with my apps and the removal of adw which is replaced with adw-ex.

I worked so hard to get DarkTremor A2SD to work with CM7 with no success:(. It was only after some extensive reading that someone mentions S2E (I could of kissed the screen:eek: lol). My point is so many of us are use to running A2SD and if it isn

Lol. Damn, Hroark. You beat me to it. I was scrolling back through the posts to find the link to post this. No new activity on that thread in a while. So pretty far
down on the list. I Gotta be more organized.

But, a lot of activity on your solution since it got applied to CTMOD. Thanks to both you and Kouma.

Also, thanks for cleaning up Koumas bloated sloppy kernel. Just kidding of course.

Teamwork, Teamwork, That's what counts! Can't remember where I heard that. Might have been a cartoon.

Hey, there wouldn't be a KoumaKernel if Hroark hadn't practically ordered me to take the dhd.ko I got to compile without hotspot event monitoring, put it in his kernel, and implement another change he was planning on making.
I think he just didn't want to support Hroarkernel anymore so he talked me into it ;)

I just thought you desrved it for figuring out the dhd.ko

Something I tried to do and failed

and Kouma Kernel just sounds a whole hell of a lot better than

HROARKERNEL

Check out my Quadrant score.

That is with my SanDisk Class 2 16GB .

Getting Read/Write values from SD Tools as follows

Again this is with CM7 and Hroark sd-ext kernel.

Getting Cheapo 16GB class 10 in mail on Monday. Let's see what it does.

I also see that I should have posted this on another thread, but I don't know how to move it. Sorry...

please let my know what you did to get that score what tweak etc. thanks

I think it was some sort of quirk. I did not try to rig it on purpose.

I don't run this very often and always questioned it's validity and stability.

I was running some benchmarks in anticipation of a new class 10 SD card.

I ran it and got something a little less than 1700. Should have kept better records, but this is fun not work.

I have been running Juice Defender Ultimate and it does help a Lot when your phone is idle. Which for me is when I sleep. Pathetic, but fun right now.

I disabled JDU and ran Quadrant again. That is when I got that ridiculous score.

I played around with it a little tonight and got varying scores depending on what I had turned off. Turning off background and sync seems to make a big difference. I did get over a 1900 doing that.

JDU may have turned off 3g. I tried this to run the test and then turned it back on with the CM7 notifications power widget after the test so that quadrant could transmit. But it hung. So never saw the results. Only tried once.

I really do not know what happened or rather to trust this thing at all.

I think that is the highest I have seen, that CM7 beta 4 right?

Yeah, but by now you have read the posts after that. Not sure what caused it or exactly how to reproduce it. JDU probably had everything turned off before I disabled it. 3g must have cut back on before Quadrant wanted to transmit.

I get Quadrant scores all over the place but usually above 1600 no matter what.

I am starting to think it may have something to do with my SD card since the whole data shit is on it now. SanDisk class 2 16GB

My SD Tools Read / Write values are also all over the place.

The new one class 10 actually might be of lesser quality cause it was cheap. Just have to wait and see.

Monday according to Tracking. Gonna call USPS and see if I can come get it this morning. It is in town!
