Root [Kernel][GB] KoumaKernel 2.5

I'm having the issue of it not mounting my data, I'm on ctmod 3.2.5 and I'm using kk1.5 I'm about to try it on CT mod 2.5
Normally when I want connect the phone to the pc I would go to settings/application settings/development/ uncheck USB Debugging and plug in my phone to the USB but it isn

I can't get KK 2.0 to boot once I install with ODIN or CWM. It hangs at the KK 2.0 screen. Any ideas? I've flashed other ROMS and KK before with no problems.

Kouma thanks for 2.0

Love the new colorful splash screen. Best yet.

I am running CTMOD 3.2 without any sd-ext support. I DO have a 1GB sd-ext that I have used with CM7 and Hroarks kernel.

I did a factory reset which formats sd-ext anyway. But then I formatted it again anyway using CWM.

I flashed KK2 (which now sounds like something a stuttering Sir Edmund Hillary would climb) and rebooted.

Restored data using Titanium and everything seems to be running great.

I read the stuff about double top secret probation or partition and can handle that pretty soon. Does that flip the switch to use sd-ext et all or just to use the third partition for Dalvik cache?

The reason I ask and not trying to break any top secret oaths here, but so far it is not doing anything with my sd-ext. Titanium does not see it either.

No big deal. ROM and kernel seem to run great. Just asking. I do not plan to use A2SD unless I need it.

I would like to try out the new kernel with sd-ext and third double top secret partition though. Unless it requires some perverted initiation ceremony.

And on another topic:

What is this damn Google Play crap that seems to replace Market. I think I got it switched over now, but I know that we will see a LOT of posts from people confused over this.

It's my first street bike. and it's been almost 15-20 years since I've ridden a dirtbike. I forgot just how many muscles you use to control a bike that you don't use in everyday life.... Owwwww.
also, why does it only hurt when I'm not riding?

LMAO ! I can't believe I missed this earlier . :p That's a nice looking Aprilia by the way .

Here's a little tip for ya Kouma , get one of the gel seat cushions if you're gonna be doing a good bit of riding . A nice pair of comfortable gloves and a decent pair of boots doesn't hurt either . You'll wear a pair of tennis shoes out in a heartbeat . I use to ride my HD Heritage Softail all over the Blue Ridge Mountains back East and that gel seat cushion literally saved my behind .

I've still got a 2001 HD Deuce sitting back in my Dad's garage in SC . I've been thinking about riding that sucker cross country back to Cali . When I started chemo last year , it put an end to that thought for a while . I would really love to have that thing out here for the Cali weather . The mountain roads out here aren't bad either . ;)

One more thing , you might wanna get a kickstand plate if you're gonna be putting the kickstand down on asphalt . If it gets hot enough ( which it does out here ) and don't have one , you'll come back to find your bike laying on it's side . I found out the hard way and I was PISSED ! Hell , I'm still mad about it ! lol

ADDED :

I've read through the KK thread but haven't seen where anyone has changed the swap when partitioning . Before I try it , I figured I should ask . Should the swap be left at 0 or can it be changed without any ill effects ? Thx

Hey Bandaid, random question but are you bandaidnf on Xbox Live?

Nope that’s not me. When I was in my late teens I was seeing this girl. We fooled around in bed and I remembered I had a Band-Aid on a certain finger lol. To make a long story short and clean, she panic thinking it was inside her lol. After stripping down the sheets she found it stuck under the covers lol. Hi guys I’m Ron aka Bandaid.

Edited spelling

I'm confused about these new kernels related to the new ctmod, I'm gonna post it over there at the ctmod post, im not sure anymore where to ask lol

Thanks for the tips and I hope you get to ride again soon.

Using the partition SDcard option within the CWM menu doesn't provide many size options, and will format the "swap" partition as, you guessed it, Linux Swap. I think CyanogenMod potentially makes use of the swap partition as actual swap, but we don't use it on any rom here yet. There are instructions for converting the swap partition to ext4 hidden in this thread as well as in the installers for CDmod 3.2 and HalfAssRom (so you could partition your sdcard, then install one of those roms and it converts the filesystem automagically). There are also instructions hidden in the first post that give more control on partition sizes

That's not an Aprilia, thats a Hyosung Aquila. Aprilia is a high-end Italian sportbike manufacturer. Hyosungs are good bikes tho, especially for people just starting out. Too many people nowadays go out and buy motorcycles that are way above their skill level and give bikers a bad image.

Can someone please tell me how to properly format my SD Card for KK 2.0? I want to completely wipe it out and start over. Ext4 would be my best choice for the extended partition correct? I have CWM 5.0.2.7. I have Minitool Partition Wizard installed too. I've screwed with formatting/partitioning so many times for so many ROMs that I forget/need a refresher. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just glanced at the tank and thought it said Aprilia . As for their sport bikes , I'm familiar with them . I've ridden with a few and several Ducati's on some poker runs . Personally , I'm a Harley Davidson man but I really like the look of his new bike . It's got that cruiser look and I bet it rides well .

As for last sentence in your post , I couldn't agree more .

The easiest way would be to boot into CWM recovery,
-Advanced
-Partition SD Card

What's so confusing about it? If you don't post your question regarding the Kernel then how is someone supposed to answer it?

If it's a question about the Kernel then ask it here. If it's regarding CTMod then ask it there? What's confusing about that?

I've tried every way i can think of to install K2.0 and it installs everytime.
my problem is that i cant get it to show more than 118mb in settings--storage--available space.
i remember kk1.3 showed +/- .86 gig free space.
why cant i get the /data/sd feature to work?
sorry if this is very noobish, but i've been flashing roms and kernals since they first were available to us. (thanks to the hard work of you guys)
i'm sure there is a tutorial or some info covering this, but i vant seem to find it.

The kernels after 1.3 work differently. They are more like DT APP2SD except built in. Some people like myself had serious performance issues with 1.3, so Kouma made some revisions. If 1.3 works good for you then I would stick with it.

1.3 didnt work so well for me. i'd like to try 2.0 but ican't figure out how to get it to store apps to sd-ext. any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

it's really quite simple
format your sdcard to have an SD-ext partiton

install KK2.0 either before or after partitioning, if it was already partitioned, you may want to erase the ext partition (format /sd-ext in CWM) before booting with KK2.0

that's it

OK ... I just tried that and I still only have 119Mb of internal memory showing for my applications when running KK2.0 with CTMod 3.2. Under CTMod 2.5 with KK1.3, I had no problem with the /sd-ext showing up and my memory was ~ 900Mb. My /sd-ext partition is 1024 and swap is 0. I event pulled the SD Card, repartitioned it and get the same results. Any ideas on what to try?
