So some quick investigation of the FCC files, looks like the VZW version will NOT come with wireless charging back as standard. I say this because there are two documents, one which is "HAC Plots Wireless Charger Cover" and one which is "HAC Plots Normal Cover"

Gonna have to shell out some extra dough for wireless charging it seems.
Well that would be a big step backwards. That is one of the best features of the Verizon G2.

I just got home, and realized I was mistaken, it's only a 5k. But it's also a good bit smaller than my wallet. Made by Vaas (got it dirt cheap off a slickdeals post)

Oh, okay. I think I know which one you have. They had them on Daily Steals and it also has a holster, right? If it's the same one I'm thinking of, then I might just swoop one up, simply due to the compact size.

I used to think wireless charging was a puffy luxury, but a good thing is less wear issues with the USB port. Ports are pretty tough, but nice to not have to rely on it.... My guess is a pricey add-on for G3?

Most attachment sales are pure sweet revenue to the carrier with high margins.

The portable charger?

Yes. This is the one that I had thought of picking up, but had so many backup battery chargers, that didn't feel that I need it. I'm sure it'll pop up again on 1sale.com or dailysteals for $10-15

Amazon.com: Vaas 5200mAh Battery Pack with Removable Belt-Clip/Stand for Apple Devices, Mobile Phones and Micro/Mini USB Devices (Choice of 2 Colors) (White): Cell Phones & Accessories

Looks like Daily Steals has it on their ebay site:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/231183604082?lpid=82

It had gone on sale for $10 at one point, but I hesitated and it's not on there anymore, so I'll likely wait.

I'm guessing $40-$50 for the QI-enabled OEM battery cover, based on SAMSUNG's similarly priced covers.

If you go the 3rd party route & use a QI receiver tag, expect $10-$20.

I'm guessing T-Mobile will bring it by default?

You sure this is any good, some reviewers are saying otherwise.

I would end up getting a bigger battery like my S4 anyway. I have not used a stock battery since the NGage. Tmo Dash, G1, N900 (sucked), Incredible, Razr, G3 and G4 all used with bigger batteries.

Tangent:

The N900's gosh awful radio reception and poor software support made me a stark tech-hater of Nokia. Worst signal reception and OS design I have used. Windows Mobile on the Dash was "better".

Fantastic sound quality and good camera though. The phone part and smart function completely sucked though. As Sir Charles says, "Turrible".

You going to kill the awesome design of the phone!!!

Definitely serves the same purpose, more or less, especially if you have two or more to swap out, having one in the phone & the other charging up in a battery charger.

Contrary to the "Thin is in" trend of most mfgs, I don't mind the extra weight/mass from an extended battery. I actually like the feel-in-hand better than stock.

When I see big, ugly cases and bulbaceous aftermarket battery covers, I always pity the designers who poured hours and hours into crafting a beautiful device, the engineers who squeezed all those components into it without molesting its beauty, and the marketing folks who tried with all their might to present their company's handiwork in the best possible light.

Destroyed for $5.99 at amazon.com. :/

Behold the gaudy LG G3 running shoe edition:

I just can't bring myself to put cheap plastic over a well-designed device, but everyone's needs and desires are different. I suppose that if I spent most of my time on conduction sites or I was particularly clumsy, I might have a change of heart to preserve that same beauty.

You sure this is any good, some reviewers are saying otherwise.

I have a tendancy to not go by reviews. Sometimes they are fabricated and I tend to trust my needs more than reviewers.

3/4 of the backup battery chargers I have got bad reviews, but they all work great for me.

I resemble everything you said and to me, that case is a thing of beauty. Absolutely gorgeous.

Plus it includes a kickstand. I'm absolutely a kickstand freak.

Your mileage may vary but thanks for the tip on the case! :)

PS to rush - point taken, and you're welcome? ;) :)

You're still coming from working with things on the macro scale. The business of working with things on the nanometer scale, as well as the science and engineering, are different.

Yay, so you are getting the phone. Awesome.!

No, but I am going to look for that case for my next HTC. Sorry. :o

As far as metal vs plastic, no question plastic is better for mitigating shock, as happens with a fall.

The more the better.

Give me that Soviet appearance any day!

This has been my experience as well.

This is bad news. I don't see why you're getting thanked for this. Hanged, yes. Thanked, no. :p (steven runs)

I will cover it with a cheap rubber case anyway :) I expect the drop potential to increase by 50% with a bigger device, since I will still try to one hand it. Years of habit to break- before the device ;)

$6 neoprene case- Black is whack! :)

Added: It comes with a kick stand? Me likes..... Not sure now..... Maybe a spare battery and one of those rubber rim protector thingies......

Me? I'm biding my time with my gnex until I'm happy to upgrade. No rush.
