Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

Any reason why Facebook notifications don't work in this ROM? I verified all of the notification settings for Facebook but I never get them....interestingly enough, in MIUI the notifications are almost instant. Any ideas? I'm running TheOC 1.5 kernel, if that matters, thanks

I have found the official Facebook app to be very fickle with notifications on even the stock ROMS both on the Optimus V and this phone. I use Friendcaster Pro from the market. Its a great replacement with much more features and the push notifications are 100% reliable in my personal experience and opinion.

Does anyone else use the volume rocker to wake function? It works sporadically at best for me and I was curious if this is an issue others have experienced. Thanks.

Flashing this ROM shouldn't unactivate your phone. I know some people had issues with the phone telling them that they needed to activate it, when the had already done so. I believe this was on the stock ROM though, but I could be wrong there. There is no way to activate it from CM7, so if you think you need to flash back to stock and make sure you did.

What makes you think it unactivated it? Did you try making a call after this happened?

Might be unrelated, but same thing happened on my first flash of MIUI a few versions back...phone activated itself after about 5 minutes. Was activated just fine on stock minutes before.

i was just wondering does any one have problems with the WiFi disconnecting while in use ill be using the phone and all of a sudden the WiFi goes out and doesn't reconnect until i go check my settings. it doesn't do it often but it happens maybe 4 times a day about every 3 to 4 hours.

Helgaiden,

Have you wiped your battery stats since flashing CM7? If not, try charging to 100% and then reboot into recovery and under advanced select wipe battery stats. After wiping the stats reboot the phone and you may find that what your phone thought was 100% was actualy much lower. If after rebooting the phone your now under 100% continue charging till you are again at 100% before unplugging the phone. Don't know if it makes a difference but I have been letting it charge for an hour or two after wiping my stats before unplugging the phone. Have done this three or four times and had the best result letting the battery die all the way and then charging turned off and uninterrupted for the next three cycles. If not you at least want to for the first cycle after wiping your stats. May or may not help I just remember having similar issues and after wiping my stats rebooted the phone to find it was only actually charging to like 83 percent. Tickerguy talked about this also but couldn't find what he said. Looked for his comments but couldn't find them if you want to look they are around somewhere in this forum.

If you note the msid number (I beleieve that is what it is called) that virgin mobile has for the phone you can activate phones by yourself (On stock rom of course) by going to ##virgin#, going to "EDIT" typing in your number and the msid. I did that instead of going through virgin mobile or Best Buy when I first bought the Triumph.

The special number for me was similar to my phone number. For example (these are not my actual numbers) my phone would be 8503034380 and my MSID was 8503031128

The ##virgin# shortcut only works on Froyo ROMs.

That would be why I said "on stock rom of course".

Oops, I missed that part, my bad.

On a different topic, it seems that the display on the MT can be set darker, but the brightness bar doesn't go that low. This can be verified by going to:

Settings - CM settings - Display - Auto backlight - Use custom - Set dim levels

level 1 is much dimmer than what can be set by the brightness bar. It may come in handy when using the phone in complete darkness & one wants to save battery power.

Is there a quicker way to set those dim levels without digging all the way into the menus? Or can this be integrated into the brightness setting in future versions?

Greetings from a new Triumph user who's very thankful to this community and tinkerguy for this work and documentation.

Regrettably, I have a boon to ask of you all with some assistance in troubleshooting and issue I'm having.

Current state - Latest version of Clockwork Mod installed and working with no issues. Somehow during the process of the installation of that or CM7 install, I have a boot error that I'm encountering. When restarting my phone this is what I get on every boot after the splash screen...

I can't get the image to embed for whatever reason so here is the link.

...I even restored from my initial Nandroid backup with the same results. Yes, I formatted /system /data & /cache and even did Dalvik as well.

Suggestions? Thoughts? Thanks for looking.

Does anyone have a definitive way to get access to non-broadcasting SSIDs in the Final build? I need to connect to my work network and its not broadcasting.

There was flashable zip quite a few pages back. I know because I had to use it to get online at work.

Both of you, if you don't mind testing, go to the bug tracker issue 24 and download from the link in one of the last comments and try that. See if that works better for you; you can just flash that over beta8.

Man.... this bites. Tickerguy left and now CM7 is getting more updates. :(

"Some other great enhancements are coming too, like a completely overhauled music app, a new file manager, and a new launcher based on stock 4.0." -CM website. (CM9 Progress Update | CyanogenMod)

Is there anyone who could/would be able to support CM7 again?

Those are not CM7 updates. Those are things going into CM9. That isn't a simple update, that is a whole new codebase (ice cream sandwich)!

I'm sure someone will get CM9 working on Triumph at some point. Most of the difficult stuff was already figured out by TG and Isaac (who both rock, btw).
