Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

Isaac.. I am curious as it shows 7.1, but it shows its built on 2.3.5 not 2.3.7 according to the changelog? I mean it looks like its just the google wallet that gets added but there may be other lil tweaks in 2.3.7, or is it maybe just reporting 2.3.5 and it is 2.3.7?

Also.. over the weekend I didn't use Wifi and my phone didn't reboot a single time... so it appears the wifi enabled has a direct corolation to the random reboots, at least in my case, fwiw.

agreed, wifi makes my phone reboot also. When it's off, it's stable. Also had it reboot one time when I manually disabled wifi, rebooted immediately.

First of all, thanks to Tickerguy and Issac for all they have done for this ROM!
It is not an important issue, just a matter of curiosity.. is there a possibility of the WiFi being able to "never sleep" in the next build of CM7? Or is that even a priority at this point? 3G signal is hit and miss in the rural area I work in and prefer to stay on WiFi constantly even during idle (I miss notifications otherwise and significant battery drain as a result of my phone constantly seeking signal)
Other than that issue, everything works beautifully! My battery life has improved dramatically with this ROM. Thanks again!

We are running an older build of 7.1. It's like we have the Canary version of CM, and ticker hasn't uploaded a build with the newest version yet.

Hate to say it, but I leave wifi off and still get the reboot issue two or three times per day, I'm thinking it's the memory leek issue. just my thoughts.

Hi:

Since installing 10-2 build I have not had one restart with wi fi off. The few times I have used wifi it connected quickly and was without issue. When my phone has been on or used alot during the day I will at some point have the screen go dark with the backlight still on and usually when this happens there is not much user memory left. That is when I restart the phone (it restarts and comes up with the lockscreen in approx 30 seconds). Tickerguy mentioned that restarting the phone manually once a day is a good idea and it seems like a very good idea until we get a rom that solves this issue. Otherwise I find the rom very fast, responsive and very stable without the wifi on. Great going to Tickerguy, Isaac and everyone else adding to this phone experience. Thanks!

I could be wrong. If it's still showing 2.3.5, that means TG didn't make the bump yet. I just built and ran a build yesterday and it's showing up as 2.3.7. Either way, all that's really required to get bumped up to 2.3.7 is a simple repo sync and rebuild. I'm sure the next build will be up-to-date. In terms of CM7, if you already have the ring lockscreen, there isn't much that was changed after that.

would you or tickerguy be able to add the touchwiz lockscreen? (i hate using those stupid apps)

Thank you Tickerguy, Isaac, and all others who contributed in developing CM7 for the Triumph. My battery life has increased dramatically! I pulled my phone off of the charger at around 10am this morning and it is at 30% as I am writing this (11:30pm-ish)...normal use, I sent a good bit of text messages, made a couple calls and browsed the internet during a Mechanics class. Everything is working or in development like mentioned in the specs posted. One thing I have noticed though, my data capabilities go on and off every now and then. Text messages and calling will still work, but the signal bars turn from green to white and the internet won't work . The simplest fix I have found is turning airplane mode on then off. Is this happening to other phones as well?

What tunneling support do you folks need? There's a NUMBER of options available - are you looking for the GRE tunnels? If just basic tunneling it's in the kernel - no module required.

Nevermind - found it. Will be in the next update.

Thank you so much for this. I use my OpenVPN server all the time with my laptop and was searching for a tun module to work for my phone. I am extremely happy that we will have one for the triumph specifically!

Try resetting your router. I had a similar issue, and I don't know why it worked, but my resetting my router solved the issue.

It worked! So simple, I would never have tried it since all other devices on the wifi in the house were working fine.

May have something to do with old MAC address for the phone's wifi adapter in the router table.

Thank you!

Setting>Wireless & networks>Wifi Settings>Menu Button>Advanced>Wi-Fi sleep policy>Never

I no longer have any hangups while resuming from standby. Battery life is still more than enough to get through a long day.

Yeah, I had been using those settings. But the WiFi never sleep feature was disabled regardless of the users settings as a fix for the wake-lock bug.

I am hoping this latest update posted today may fix that.. but like I said before, it's not big deal because I am extremely satisfied with this ROM and grateful for the hard work put into it.

By the way, download link for latest update? (that may be a dumb question, I'm just not seeing a link on any of the sites or forums; I may be missing it)

Like everybody else I am extremely grateful for the work you put into making our phone phenomenal. I would like to request a feature, that hopefully wouldn't be too hard to implement. The feature I am asking for is, to have the LED flashlight notification widget enabled in the build. Right now I use a flash light application that I keep on my desktop, but it would be extremely useful if I could just add the working widget to my notification bar. Thanks for your time.

For anyone wondering, I verified that the OpenVPN now works.

You need to do a 'modprobe tun' (as root) before connecting. Probably you can set up the kernel to autoload that module if you plan to use this feature often.

Here is how I setup autoloading tun.ko (and verified this works).

This may be a dumb question: Where may I find the zip of today's update for this ROM?

can anyone comment on wifi functionality in the latest build?
I just updated a couple hours ago and so far the wifi, seems to work well, it might even be connecting faster than with the previous builds. I just hopped from the 9/25 build, and this one seems golden so far.
