Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

I just got a triumph rooted and installed cwm. But I see I'm required to install Isaacs version for cm7. But its only an IMG file. So what do I do with that? Never installed or used an img file. Thank you.

Nevermind, download the zip package and flash it using CWM.

I just noticed that I cannot send a MMS to Tmobile users, I get a message back from tmobile "The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction."

I think Tmobile caps MMS size to 300kB. Try sending a lower res picture, or smaller video, out whatever it was you were sending.

Is anyone else having problems with games or video? Since updating to beta 6 I have had some strange things going on with Games either closing or doing weird things. One easy example to give is that with Angry Birds after throwing a bird or two it will jump to the level failed even if you still have birds. With video they will freeze or go in fast forward mode until the video has been paused. With both I have had the app just close. This is the second time installing with these issues. The first install was an update from five in which I formatted / system before installing and the second install I did data wipe, cache partition wipe and dalvik cache wipe before installing.

Update: After new install things are looking good. May have been an issue with Titanium witch I had used to restore user apps from previous install.

Update: Finding that Tit5anium is not perfect and have had issues with a few restored user apps. Still I could not live without the app but find I have better luck re-installing an app from the market and then using Titanium to restore the data only.

I'm not sure if this is mentioned but I read thru the first page posts of tickerguy and I couldn't find the problem mentioned.

Well my problem is that, ever since I installed beta 0.4, my phone keeps rebooting at random points for some reason. I am certain that some apps are causing this because at the fresh install, it doesn't happen. It runs smoothly. Are there any known apps that could cause this problems? I have tried to factory reset, clean installed the rom by formatting system, data, and cache, but still after installing every apps that I usually use, it starts to become fragile. It wasn't like this on beta v0.3. Now, even after updating to v0.6 beta, it is still happening.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Or is it just me?

I will try to fresh install the beta v0.6. But since I have a lot of apps and customized theme, it's hard..... Lol.

Thanks in advance and thank you and great props to you tickerguy for your awesome work.

If you use Titanium Backup, it saves all your apps and settings. When i used it, it even saved all my texts! You might wanna give it a try :)

Does it backup apps, settings and system separately or together? I will have to try that. But until I can find the exact problem, it might still happen even after doing all that. Any other thoughts about the problem? Thanks.

I've tried numerous ways to increase the color temperature on android for night-viewing, and the best I've come across is the render widget in CM7. One thing that would make it better would be to have it turn on at a certain time (night) and off (sunrise).

Does anyone know how to automate this? I haven't had any luck getting it to work with tasker. Would this be something you could and would want to code into CM7, Tickerguy?

My Beta .6 experience so far has been great. Any problems people have been experiencing in the past few pages do not exist for me (at least for what I use and have tried). my battery has always been a bit of a lemon but I can say with this beta my battery life has never been better! GPS is a little slow to lock in out on the street but works fine in Manhattan (NYC). Wireless, screen shot, e mails, sms, mms, voice, wi fi, all work as good or better than any other pre-release and far and away much more responsive than stock for everything I have tried without exception except for known bugs which for me are non issues (although I will use hdmi and get the cable at some point when it is fixed. Tickerguy you rock! I'm pretty good at finding problems when they exist but your work is A+++++++ and your blogs here are always informative so on the one or two occasions where I found a bug in the alpha builds, by the time I was about to post someone beat me to it and I don't want to be redundant....I see enough of it hear.
And for those who have glitches or reboots, it's probably something 3rd party app or something on the user end and not in the rom. I use Titanium backup to restore any missing apps or an app that corrupts but always remember to only install the app and NOT the data. I also did an install of beta .2 from ROM manager and found that although everything worked perfectly, I did have to install most of my apps from Titanium Backup. I have not had to flash gapps since my clean install of beta .1 .... Awesome work!!!!! Thanks!!!

BTW here's an OBJECTIVE view of battery consumption - mostly idle, except for a few text messages and one ~10 minute phone call today.

7 hours, ~15%, or about 2%/hour. This is with email being pushed to the device on K9mail, using Juice Defender, Wifi off (3g data only.)

The only way you're beating this with a smartphone is if its in airplane mode.

Minor problem but the toggle to put the phone into silent or vibrate mode in the pull down menu isn't working. I keep tapping but it doesn't change. It worked before, anybody having the same problem?

He is right I thought mine was broke too.

in settings after you click widget buttons, scroll down to button modes and the click brightness modes, the put a checkmark in all the %'s you want used. from ipaint66

Anyone notice on B0.6 that the backlight acts differently? Instead of brightening slowly, it just flicks from somewhat dim to bright, right away...haven't changed any settings from 0.4 to 0.6, so I'm not really sure why it is different.

Noticed this, too. There appears to be a ticket in the CM7 bug tracker, but it dates back to CM6 (although listed as "new") - seems strange to me that the 2.3.5 build didn't have it.

Being i said i have cwm installed and asked how to install the img file. How about you answer that?

If you already have clockwork mod recovery installed then you're all set. If you're merely wanting to upgrade cwm, there is a clockwork mod thread under the "Triumph All Things Root" section. I would strongly suggest you visit that for assistance with cwm. It has all the info you need. Also, minus5252 has some very nice tutorials you can view on YouTube or on his site HTTP://WWW.motorolatriumphhacks.com

I have the screen also go from dim to whatever my brightness setting is after it wakes up from sleep or unlock....It takes about a second or two and it doesn't bother me as I figure it stems from something in the energy savings and I'd rather it go from dark to bright then the other way around. I find the power widget auto brightness adjustment built into the rom to works perfectly (otherwise) and perhaps the issue lies in that it takes a second longer to wake up
I also did not have this dim to bright lcd screen upon wake or unlock until this .6 build, but it is probably a good thing for battery life (although marginal) as a 4.1" phone lcd is a 1380mah battery drain in and of itself.

Otherwise, I can't think of anything else i have tried so far which is a bit laggy or different. The touchscreen has been smooth as silk when scrolling or changing pages, and is normally at times a little less responsive when touching an app icon to launch it....but still much, much more responsive than stock, unless stock was overclocked to 1.5GHz or more. This rom I'm running at 245MHz low to 1024MHz top....with smartass 2 and using Juice Defender since the alphas.

Can't say I could beat that... but I'm pretty damn close. 2 days and it died about an hour ago. This build fixed all of my previous issues, and now I'm back to my normal battery life. Thank you! I'll try Juicedefender (again, I used it on my old phone, which is when I bought the Ultimate add on) and see if that helps even more. :D

I had the same problem as well.

That is the fix for the brightness button not working. I don't think it needs to be said but for those who didn't completely look through those settings there is also a sound mode. Click on that and select the ones you want (I just selected all of them) and the sound button will work. The reason it wasn't working is because nothing was selected by default. I'm not sure why since in the previous builds everything was selected. Oh well. Problem solved now.
Cheers!

I have been using this mod for a little bit now, but I have run into a problem. I have been trying to use IHeartRadio over 3G, and when I wouldn't face an issue before, since I installed this hack, it keeps dropping the signal and I have to continuously stop and start until it works again. Has anyone else been having this issue, or is it just me? I don't think this happens under Wifi - strictly 3G.

3G has been working fine in this ROM for quite some time, Virgin Mobile however, has not. I'd say you have a carrier problem, not a ROM problem.
