Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

Did a fresh wipe of everything and installed the new build and green theme again. We'll see how she does now, I'll update my experience after running for awhile. Seems great thus far, just got done resetting up my Link2SD and restoring my apps with TB. An easy to follow guide by benslgdroid on that matter is located here for those that may be interested.
Been running the latest build for about 12 hours now. It's performing flawlessly from a fresh wipe and I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks Jerry!:D

Here's a screenshot of available space after using Link2SD and integrating davlik into the ROM. This is with 60 apps installed.

How old did you say you were? 30? or 3 lol.
I still ride the shopping carts down the aisle when no one is looking and I'm almost 50.

I'm looking for a stable build of BACKside that I can leave on here for months at a time, can anyone recommend a relatively bug-free and not so bleeding edge version?

P.S. nothing personal against Jerry, he does a wonderful job! it's just not everyone likes to stay on the bleeding edge. (and is a lot of work wiping and redoing all the settings again when an update doesn't go well, like 212-219 = no accounts and can't add one)

I believe the 0131 build was before the ICS rotation animation bug, out should suit your needs. ;)

No offense taken, I am involved with IHO because it is open source allowing for ask tours of builds. You might like harmonia2, it's based on a stable IHO.

thanks for the quick replies :) I'll try 131. I've become accustomed to BACKside for a long time, not sure I can settle for anything less now :P

BTW, I guess I shouldn't use the "update" method to downgrade from 212 to 131, right? unexpected side effects? guess I'll just wait for another version since 219 update isn't working

Edit: nevermind, I just re-flashed 219 from my 212 backup and it's working fine this time! LOL, weird.

Hey guys,

Long time reader first time poster. :)

I have been using Backside for about 6 months and for the longest time I stayed on 1109 build because it was stable.

I recently updated first to 0131 and it was great flying faster than ever.

I decided why not go for the most current and when I installed 0219 its bogged down worse than 1109.

My question is will that speed ever return like 0131 or has the project moved in a different direction and I should more than likely stay on 0131?

Thanks,

PMUSER

Everyone else says 0219 is fast and smooth, and I haven't had any issue with it.

As mentioned above, try opening terminal and typing the following:
Code:
su
fix_permissions
reboot

Thanks alot Jerry. I have seen this fix permission mentioned before in this forum, but did not know how to perform it.

Should this be done after every update?

No when you first update permissions are fine but when it seems to be running sluggish after a while them run it.

One other thing fix_permissions appears to help is battery life:
(makes sense, smoother operating phone means lease CPU usage) ;)
