[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

Well, everyone was talking about how great TWRP was and I switched and now ppl are moving back to CWRM? What's up with TWRP? I haven't noticed any issues personally.

Jbdan,

What settings are you running in Franco Kernel Updater? i.e. cpu speeds, undervolting, overclocking...etc?

Titanium Backup is your friend. Worth far more than the cost.

Others are complaining about Play not auto-restoring. Not sure what's up with that...

Amen. TiBu also is much faster AND doesn't use your data (if not on wifi). Worth it's weight in gold.

As far as app restore from Play, I've heard it will work on 3.5

I think I'm the only one back on CWM 5.8.0.2 touch.

I run the cpu at 1036MHz 384MHz min. Screen off max frequency set to 729MHz. I use interactive gov as it has been tweaked to be the proven choice with JB. I let SmartReflex do the UV'ing for me so no custom UV, and keep (f)sync on for data integrity. I've disabled the "logger" and use a lot of custom color & gamma tweaks as well. 210red, 190green, and 205blue in color multipliers. Gammas all set to "0". And a trinity contrast of -10. I have also disabled "Content Adaptive Brightness" which gives me a much brighter screen in direct sunlight at the cost of some battery.

Well, this place went dormant in a hurry!

Everybody just working out their flashing fingers getting ready for 3.5, or is everyone pretty much done at 3.4?

Either way, the silence in here is deafening!

I never left cwm. But I did just spend 20 mins catching up on this thread, you guys have been busy. Sounds like a new build is in route. I'll probably give it a shot tomorrow when I'm at work and actually have time to mess with my phone again. :D

Not a newb but lurker beacuse most of my questions have been answered. Right now im on V2.6 and debating to update to 3.5 I dont want to have to go through all the trouble again of setting my phone back up

You will have to. The dev of jelly belly suggested a clean wipe when coming from anything before 3.0 because 3.x is based on Google's code, whereas pre 3.0 was based off of a nandroid of jelly bean.

CWM touch here as well. 3.4 improvement on speed switching apps is impressive. Spent the day using GPS back and forth on a 3 hour trip each way. Told me street names well enough in advance. Behaved nicely all day. Loaded the jb bootloader, 3.4, gapps, and a couple of mods (circle battery and power menu) ... All dirty .. just did a cache and dalvik wipe first from 2.2

It would take a serious problem with TWRP to get me back to CWM.

Loaded up 3.4 a few minutes ago... clean install since I was way back at 2.3 or something. First impression was that I didn't think JB could get any smoother, but it seems that I was wrong. This is smooth like glass.

When I connect to WiFi, I get a reboot. If I turn WiFi off, everything runs fine. Turn it back on, once it authenticates and connects, another restart.

Is there a fix for this?

EDIT: Pulled battery for a few minutes. Seems to be doing ok right now.

It seems I've forgotten more than I have retained about all of this. Haven't ROM'd this much since I gave up my Viewsonic Gpad.

I used to use Titanium BU but I guess I thought it would only work if I were restoring the same ROM (version and all). I guess I thought it would be 'cleaner'. Besides, since the auto-restore of apps came along, I just relied on it.

Guess I need to hit youtube and remind myself all about Titanium!

CKelly, TiBU doesn't just restore the apps themselves... they restore the app DATA. You won't lose anything that way.

The paid version allows you to do a batch restore of all the apps... just don't restore SYSTEM apps & data. User apps only.

Well worth it!

Also, just saw that I have the storage folder with the sdcard0 in it. How did you guys fix that? I wonder if this is some of my issues

I would reboot into CWM and run fix permissions under advanced. It takes a while...

Before you flash a new ROM, go into TiBu, click the icon at the top that looks like a piece a paper with a check mark, which is batch operations. Under the "Backup" section, click "Run" next to "Backup all user apps." This will make a backup of all your user app plus their data (like game progress). After you flash a new ROM, re-download TiBu from the Play Store. Open it, click the same batch operations icon, and go to the "Restore" section, click "Run" next to "Restore missing apps with data." Uncheck any apps that you don't want to re-install with their associated data. Run the restore and profit.

I didn't fix permission after gapps, but I did since then. Particularly, when I got in a bootloop after turning on WiFi

I can select the ringtone, it just doesn't set

sdcard0 hasn't bothered me.

3.5 in MINUTES! Here it comes!

Ugh, looks like a clean wipe for the second time today. I'll do fix permission after gapps this time. Maybe that will help, although not sure why at that point.

Not sure why I have the sdcard 0, maybe another clean wipe will help that too
