Xerox Star Information System, not the Apple Lisa.

First MP3 player?

MPMan, not the iPod.

First gesture-based OS?

Microsoft Surface, not iOS.

First Universal Interface?

USB, not FireWire.

Things haven't changed. At all.

Apple just puts a multi-million dollar advertising campaign behind their products to brainwash people into thinking they invented the product.

The scary part?

It works.

It's time to support healthy competition.

Henry Ford didn't invent the engine either, but he revolutionized the auto industry with the assembly line.

Kawasaki didn't invent the motorcycle, but that hasn't stopped me from buying 5 of their machines so far.

McDonalds didn't invent the hamburger, but that hasn't stopped them from serving billions and billions of them worldwide.

Just what does any of this have to do with the price of tea in China might we ask?

Apple is different than all the rest. They take advantage of the situation to jack up prices, create closed platforms and rip-off customers. ;)

Android actually PROMOTES healthy competition in the market.

iOS doesn't. They just steal ideas, call it their own and lock it down.
 
I don't like apple much either.

But the iPhone is easy to use and is geared towards people who basically just wanna get on Facebook and basic web browsing.
Sure you can do more via a jailbreak, but most keep it stock.

Android folk are nerds. Including myself. We want the best user experienced customized our way.

Apple does price gouge like bose. But they gotta pay for all that marketing somehow.
 
To be fair to the iPhone, when Apple released the first iPhone... it revolutionized the smartphone market. "Touch screen phone?!? Multitouch?!? Elastic scrolling?!? OMG!" was basically the reaction of the tech industry at Apple's keynote for the first iPhone in 2007. It's really amazing to think that only a few years ago, we never even had touch screen phones.

Microsoft Surface is an OS?!? That's a very liberal use of the term "OS". I think everyone sees "OS" as like Windows, OSX, iOS, Android, Symbian, Linux, etc.
 
They haven't 'stolen' anything that Android hasn't stolen. But then the two companies aren't directly comparable.

Apple is a hardware company, which happens to write it's own software. Android is simply a software that is given away by Google for free. Then OEMs like Motorola, Samsung, HTC, LG and others design mobile devices and implement Android in them. So those OEMs have gone and done no different than Apple. But infact they did less since they didn't actually create the software that they use in their devices like Apple did.

All this trash talk is just so misguided. You don't have to hate on Apple just because you have an Android device in your pocket. Steve Jobs is not the Adolf Hitler of the computer world. They are a company that is out there for one reason, TO MAKE MONEY. That is no reason to hate a company. If you hated every company that was trying to make money, then you would hate every single company. Don't you see how looney that is?

Oh wait, I know... but Google gives Android away for free so that makes them the Sister Teresa of smartphones, right? Yeah, only you didn't get your Android phone for free now did you? No you bought it from one of the OEMs I mentioned above. So now your phone is just as evil as the iPhone because the OEM you bought it off of, well they are trying to make money.

So please, stop with the Apple tirades. They get sooo tiresome around here. Nobody was ever forced into buying a damn i-anything. Anyone who wants to spend their hard earned money on an iPhone/Pod/Pad is perfectly welcome to do so. You and I don't have to. But guess what, we don't have to buy a Blackerry, WinMobile phone or Palm device either thanks to Apple........ do what???

Yeah 5 years ago, before the iPhone launched, those were the 3 choices you had as far as smartphones went. It was either one of those, or a Nokia dumbphone. Then came Apple's iPhone and voila, now you had a choice to get a touch screen smartphone. 3 years after that, HTC launched a phone that had an OS supplied by Google that copied all the good qualities of the iPhone, along with some of the good qualities of the other phones, mixed together with a few of their own idea's, and poof... Android was born.

So before you go slamming Apple for being a big fat copy cat, then turning around and praising the software company that copied a lot from that big fat copy cat... relax and just be happy we live in such an exciting time. We truly are spoiled by all means, we have so much more than any other generation ever thought about having.

And none of the people reaponsible for bringing us here are 'evil' in any sense of the word. Without Apple, we'd be a lot further behind where we are now.

Go Apple..... as well as Android!

Tim-Berners Lee, the father of the WWW. The man who invented the 1st Web Server, the 1st Web Browser, invented the two applications using a NEXT computer and the NEXT development environment (which is the father of OSX's XCODE). OSX is a descendent of NEXT operating System.

Lee even stated that if it wasn't for the NEXT, it would have taken him years instead of months.

true.. apple does not create new tech...

but they do bring them together in a very great way..
which has pushed the industry that they are in.. ahead faster.

if not for iphone... we would still be on devices that has all the same hardware.. but not as integrated.

we would still be on palms with calling ability .. or phones that have pda ability.
 
I'm still trying to work out what the OP is trying to get at? I mean Ford didn't invent the motor car, but they've sure been successful at making and selling the things. But so what?

Apple Lisa was a flop. Microsoft Surface is a completely different product to the iOS devices. AFAIK the first truly universal interface was RS232, invented decades before USB and Firewire.

yeah but the point is that he has to Jailbreak his iPhone to do what your device can do natively.

Honestly I agree with what an above poster said. Just tell him that he can like his platform, and you can like yours that doesn't make his better.

The fact that he won't listen to your side of the argument says (to me anyway) that he's jealous and he's trying to make himself feel better by being a *****

If he doesn't stop, honestly is this the kind of friend you want? One who pushes that he's always better? Sounds abusive if you ask me.

Obviously he didn't see my Avatar on there which is a picture of my Daughter, but I guess I just looked at my wife and made her pregnant, and then did it again 10 months later lol!

my question is about apple haters,so i hope nobody gets all bent out of shape. the question is if you have a apple computer and an android phone,why would you not have the iphone instead. would they all not work better together or is that not the case.im asking because im thinking of switching to a mac computer. but i like my android. why would hate the iphone and not the mac computer?

Honestly, Mac computers are made really well. The OS is great for video/photo editing. I absolutley love their computers, but hate their phones/ipod/ipads.

Besides syncing, there really isnt an advantage to using an apple mobile product with an apple computer. And android can sync just as well with windows and mac by itself.

because the iphone is EXTREMELY limited in what it can do, thanks to Steve Jobs putting his greedy little hands in every thing it does.
