Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the LG Optimus M MS690

I believe the only thing you would need thats not in my device repo or the vendor tree would be frameworks which it seems I've deleted since my last build. May want to check BobZhome's repo out for those changes as I dont think they were ever submitted to gerrit to be merged into the upstream for GB.

Bobz, reppard, and mine are based off IFHO's repo so that should work too. But yea Bob and IFHO have added alot from the Optimus V GB rom. But IIRC the only thing needed outside of the device n vendor trees was frameworks. Other than that its just a matter of pulling all the needed files from the phone. Which I think Bob had his vendor tree on github too, if not hollar n I will dig mine out n upload it for you.
 
Bob has been instrumental in the development of the kernels which are the heart of most all IHO ROM's.
 
I really want to try one of the tweaked ROMs out there but I want one that everything works on... is there a ROM out there that doesnt have any problems with mms text video wired headphone with mic, wifi etc... is there such a thing? I keep reading that Cygenomod seems to be the most stable so far ..but it seems each ROM has its own anomalies for now.. which one has the most functional features.. I dont care so much for speed or looks but functionality...saying that should i just stick with my stock phone as is?
 
Ok the only way i can get it to boot is if i use CWM to flash a boot.img. and my other error is trying to flash. i get this

assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "thunderc" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "thunderc" || getprop("ro.product.board") == "thunderc"); as a Status error. Any ideas on how to fix this?

So i think its something with the bootable folder inside cm7 telling my phone to go into fastboot. But i really dont know. I just know its something to do with the boot.img.

nope idk whats going on.
 
I have this quite annoying issue, every few seconds or when I open up menus, setttings, contacts, home screens, etc., I get this error

The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. please try again. [Force Close]

I just update to the latest ROM of this one and this is what I keep getting, any patches for the kernel? or the ROM?

Has anyone else had this issue?
 
I installed the program and it worked for a moment. Now my screen works when it wants to. Is there any way to restore the original droid program or uninstall??? Help me please!!!

Broke boot prolly lol. that error is it failing a assert check, which basically checks for what phone its installing on n fails if it doesnt match. Should match tho.
 
Same problem as ghost.rider with the assertfailure...
Anyone figure this out on the ms690 "optimus m"

Wipe system b4 flashing or toggle assert checks off or remove the assert check from the updater-script.

The assert check shouldn't fail tho if u are on stock or cm7 tho.
 
I have redownloaded the CMOD again, but I'm having the same problem. My screen goes completely black whenever I answer the phone, and it stays off for an extended period of time. It still comes on when it feels the urge to show me something. I don't understand??? This is my first time doing this, I need some steps please help!!! lol Thanks again

Before flashing the rom did you wipe all data?
 
This works perfect, now, my only problem is that contacts says that i have no accounts even when i have my google account added to the phone. It's just me or there is a fix for that??? I rellay dont wanna go back to stock.
 
First of all, Id like to thank the author for this rom. Really appreciate it. Everything went well when flashing my LF optimus M. I went to look for Google play and couldn't find it. So I downloaded the .apk and installed it from there. Now every time I open Google Play, it says

You must add an account to the device to continue. Do you want to add one now?

I hit yes and it just closes. I manually have to go to settings>account & sync and create an account. Even after successfully creating an account AND rebooting, it still says I have to add an account.

Anyone knows what gives? It was super convenient to browse through Google play on my laptop and send them to my phone on stock. Would like to do so on CM7.
 
No I havent. I have no idea what gapps is.


Edit : Just did a search on it. gapps=google apps. Now to find a tutorial on how to flash this onto my phone.
 
Can someone help me out? I have absolutely no luck with any cyanogenmod roms for the optimus m. I can flash it just fine but whenever I use any kind of data or just use it alot it always reboots. Ive tried fixing permissions Ive tried everything. The only conclusion Ive come up with is because my phone was 2.2.2 when i flashed the rom. Is that the problem? Does anyone have any insight?

I upgraded to cm7 after update 2.2.2 and it made everything run smoother than when I upgraded to cm7 after 2.2.1
