LOL I'm assuming the only reason would be because they are embarrassed by "Virgin Mobile". It makes absolutely no difference to me what it says personally but it's nice to have the option :)

In my opinion, having a phone that beats the quadrant scores of most contract phones for half the price is nothing to be ashamed of ;)

Also, some people like to put the name of their ROM as the carrier name.
 
Hey there. So I haven't checked every post, so it may have been mentioned.... but the 01-26 download link isn't working for me. Actually, it is the link from mediafire. Once I get there, hit download, I get a broken link and no download. Anyone else? Maybe it is just a temporary problem?...
 
redgjm, if you are coming from a previous build of Tickerguy's CM7, and you don't format the data when installing, then your homescreen settings should be restored when you switch back to Gingerbread launcher. Or if you have the launcher backed up with Titanium, you should be able to restore the launcher data and probably even the launcher itself.

As Whyzor pointed out to me when I asked him your same question:
if you use a custom launcher like Zeam or install the stock launcher as an apk instead of this flashable zip, then you won't have to flash that zip everytime you update the rom. All you would have to do then is uninstall ADW and you wouldn't even have to do that since your phone only uses one launcher at a time and it wouldn't use any ram.

I personally use Zeam and everytime I install updates to this ROM my phone boots up with Zeam (by default of course) and then I just go in and uninstall ADW (along with other system apps I don't want like rom manager, email, etc)

It's just a matter of preference :)
 
It seems like ever since the 1-14 build that if I use my camera or a camera app the phone will not deep sleep until after a reboot. I thought that Camera zoom FX was to blame, but the more I dug in to the problem the more it seems to just be anything that uses the camera sensor. Has anyone else noticed anything like this or could I still just have an app issue. The only reason I bring it up is because it did not do this prior to 1-14 build.

It worked on my phone, but the first "try" at downloading didn't work. It worked the second time.

Just tried it now and it's not working for me either from my laptop running Firefox 9. Maybe it's down at the moment.

Hey does anyone here use Font changer? If so is there a way to see which font u are currently using? I havent flashed the latest rom cuz i finally found really good font i like but when i flash it resets to default and i got tons on here and i cant recall what this one is lol. I browsed through it and just cant seem to find where it shows the current font :/
 
Mediafire isn't working, can someone upload a mirror of the latest version (1/26)?

EDIT: Nevermind, cleared my browser history and now it works. Weird!
 
I was able to change my eri.xml file without mounting the system folder as writable. I got the idea from a post I saw. In it, it said that the system folder was mounted as writable on boot.

What I would like to know is, could we set something to mount it as read only at boot. I guess if some others could confirm this for me, I would like to know.
I think it would need to be done in the kernel under the aneroid version of fstab.

eri.xml goes in /data, which is rw, /system is ro by default.
 
tried the TG CM7 reloaded tonight coming from TGCM7 and i must say i'm impressed... thanks for the hard work and quality work.. keep it up you guys.

the big plus for me.. is you can use the FFC in G+ chat.. thanks!
 
What are these new screen transitions I see the screen flip when going into landscape mode but can't find the screen transition as the post says new transitions
 
Phone has been working great so far with this mod.

Then I noticed my battery life drop dramatically so I investigated it. Says I am getting a 96% kernal wake lock from a thing called "event4-162". How do I stop it? What even is it?
 
I really love the custom carrier feature. I will switch between Cyanogen and my name. Its Luke a minor security enhancement. I doubt anyone would want to steal an item with someone else's name all over it and i havnt found a security app yet. But it would be great if it scrolled across too :-)

I've left my in the bank, post office and office and each time i answered some questions to get it back from the nice people who held it for me (the intercept haven't lostthis one yet). So if i lose this one i cansimply show my id

I've noticed this a few times, but can't reproduce it reliably. I would suggest turning the phone off for a minute at least, to clear the memory. It helps somewhat. It's one of those bugs in the kernel that is extremely hard to fix because the overall lack of quality of this phone's hardware & software from the manufacturer.

I've been seeing the kernel being kept awake by event4-162, too. I can reliably reproduce it on the 1-25 build by running Camera Zoom FX (radiotecha1234 mentioned in a few posts up). I haven't gotten it to happen with the stock camera app. It goes away after a reboot.

I've been using Camera Zoom FX and TG/TG-Reloaded on my Triumph for a while, and haven't noticed the battery drain caused by event4-162 until recently.

Edit: Disregard this. The screen staying on during a bluetooth call is by design.

It's possible something in recent CM7 code broke things. I'll try to look out for it more.

I'm not sure what is broken here. I don't use BT much, can't you just turn off the screen with the power button if it's going to be in the pocket?
