Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

Still getting my phone stable. Google Play crashes when ever I try to update an app or download a new one. Also, prior to that, it wouldn't crash but instead gave me error 921 and DF-BPA-13. Anyone encountered this?

Did you try fixing permissions?

In a terminal emulator type the following

su
fix_permissions

If that doesn't work, reflash gapps.

Wipe Cashe > Dalvik
flash gapps
reboot system

I've tried fix perms from recovery menu, and just tried through the emulator. What you've suggested did not work. This is the only real trouble I've had with my phone, ever, besides getting Link2SD to work.

I wiped everything, reinstalled the update, and then, following the advice from some guys in IRC, stopped trying to install ICS gapps. Things seem to be working now! Horray!

NEVER fix permissions with recovery.
ICS gapps are for ICS, not for this ROM.

Ahh, that would explain it. There's different gapps for different roms (ice has its own gaps, froyo has it's own gapps etc. etc. etc.). Always use the gapps that goes with your rom. Nine times out of ten the rom dev will have it linked in the same post with their rom link.

Not that it matters; I keep the roms I use in their own unique directories on my sd card. Like, BACKside has its own directory and inside is the rom and the gapps that goes with it. Quattrimus has it's own directory with it's rom and it's gapps inside, too. This helps me not make any mismatch mistakes. ;)

Hey guys. I'm struggling with not having enough space on the internal memory. I'm using link2sd to try and manage my apps and put things on the sd card to try to free up internal memory. Right now I have the following on my internal sd :

Espier Launcher 7.6mb
Google Search 1.3mb
Google Voice 7.9mb
Link2Sd 1mb
Market 7mb
Superuser 1.3mb

I know the Optimus V is very limited on internal memory but I have to keep my Launcher and Google Voice on the internal sd so they load on boot. I also use Widget Locker but I just don't have space to put it on the internal sd. I moved it to the external sd to get rid of the low space icon so I have to manually load it on each reboot and also at other random times.

Is there anything I can do to improve my situation other than purchase a new phone?

*EDIT* Just realized that Swype is not on my internal sd anymore so I moved it back so it would load; back to having the low space icon on my status bar. *SIGH*

If your using link2sd you should link the things you have moved to sd. Just moving it leaves allot in internal. Also make sure all your lib files for your linked apps are linked.

Good call keeping L2SD, Market and Superuser on internal. If something gets out of whack with your SD card, you'd otherwise screwed!

I put a good file explorer on internal as well. Strange that you are having internal space issues with so few apps. Do you use the stock email app by chance? Or the stock browser? Those rack up a pretty hefty cache/data size. Try clearing them out.

Why do you switch roms?

Hi. My name is AndyOpie150 and I am a ROM flashing addict. Actually I'll flash just about anything.
Now I getting into pulling apart two or more ROM's and making one Hybrid monster. IT'S ALIVE. IT'S ALIVE.

Here's mine:

Hi, I'm sammyz. I mess with Optimus V roms on my Optimus M. I like to switch the files so that it is fully functional on my M. I have ported BACKside and MIUI to the Optimus M. I will try stuff out made for the V on my M any day. I have also fixed BACKside for my Optimus V to work with MetroPCS. UNLIMIT YOURSELF AND EXPLORE WHAT THE OV HAS TO OFFER!

Hi, I'm Phatninja55. I like messing with roms. I ported a cm7 rom for the optimus one to my ov, unfortunately it will never go public because the files I used to port it were stolen from other roms witch I didn't keep track of the links. =P I also like fixing things the I break. I have two ov's and I completely borked one up. And I LOVE to bork things up... lol that sound perverted....

Hello, my name is Nitestalkr, and I like to dissect roms to add in several different tweaks and themes, because I am to lazy to flash them individually. I know my process takes several minutes, to a few hours than the usual recommended process, but I enjoy splitting hairs over hours of unnecessary work. I also start many projects, but never release or finish any of them, due to my fear of being criticized and not having the proper skill set or time to manage any continual projects. I also like to think that I know everything, when I only know just enough to seem that I know what I'm talking about, in just about every subject that you can think of.
That is all.

Here's mine...
I'm Brotherswing. I'm addicted to theming for Android, so much so that I built a website for it. When I get caught up on the many projects I have going, I think I'm going to try porting BACKside to the WFS.

I could help port that :)

Okay, gotta join the cool kids....
Hi, I'm Encerspay. I'm really just a little Optimus V Noob that freaks out over everything and would probably be nowhere without all of the awesome people on this site and some others.
Oh, by the way, DHOT is really awesome for making my dream of a Skyrim CM7 Theme come to life :)

Hello, I'm nimr0d82 & I'm here to break the cycle.

I have this BACKside flashed on my phone. My friend refuses to flash his but likes the way the screen timeout animation looks (the TV turned off animation). Can I just move a file off mine onto his so it'll be the same, and if so, how?

Unfortunately, I don't think so. It's part of the system file on your ROM. It maybe possible, although difficult, if your friend's phone was rooted. If he isn't, then there isn't anyway to do it. If he is, then he should just flash the ROM. I think once he sees the customization options you have, not to mention the performance boost, he may change his mind.

Riggerman is correct, unless they've rooted their phone, and flashed BACKside, or made a custom Froyo rom with just that animation added to a stock rom, then they won't be able to enjoy the screen off animation.

Come to the BACKside, and don't forget the febreeze. :D
