Too many calls

I use the do not disturb (DND) Android feature using the exception of "from contacts". It does wonders for me. If a non-contact calls, the phone does not ring, but I'm still notified of the call which I can then manually block. If you're expecting a non-contact call you can disable this feature temporarily. One of the best featues on the phone!!..

OTA Antenna Reception

i put up an outdoor (rooftop) antenna for my mother.

she was paying $55 dollars a month for bare minimum dish network service (no internet)

we were so overwhelmed with info and choices that the only thing to do was to get an antenna for roughly the price of the monthly bill

i took the dish off its mount, and used that mount and the sweet satellite grade coax to set up the $50 antenna

she had like 50 channels of crap with dish, now she has about 42 channels of crap with no more payments

also got her phone to link to the tv, so she can cast to that

it figures that although it works, now that there is internet at the house she no longer really watches broadcast television much

In case anyone still cares about Assange…

^^^People make up government. People sometimes are known to lie, cheat, and steal, as well as doing things that are embarrassing. The Bush Administration wasn’t the first to take actions that were less than savory, and it won’t be the last. Bringing such things to light is appropriate, though, because a free society generally deserves to know what its leaders are doing. Torturing terror suspects is awful, yes, but it is nevertheless a far cry from torturing, imprisoning and killing political dissidents, for example.

That aside, journalists must be responsible with the information given them. (Extreme example: publishing a list of names, locations, pictures and aliases of international spies. I don’t know anyone who would condone publishing that.) At the end of the day it’s an awfully weak defense to simply say “all I did was publish it.” That’s roughly akin to someone driving around in a car stolen by another and then denying any wrongdoing because the driver didn’t steal it. There is still complicity.
Journalistic integrity requires discretion.

Manning was the thief, no doubt, but Assange was his/her accomplice.

Given his self-imposed exile and British prison time, in the grand scheme of things I think justice has (to some extent) been served.

Root ZTE ZMAX Pro (Z981) "off topic" root discussion

Huge difference.. one is a phone he wants to get which he wants to pay for it. The other is one he doesn't need or want so why would he buy it? He is only helping us with root. I don't see why that is not right.

It's not that he can't afford it. He just doesn't want to pay for it out of his own pocket for something he doesn't want in the first pl

I swear this post said it was by @bcrichster until I logged in to reply and now it says it was by @pandibear. If this is bcrichster, I got washed away in a tunnel flood and my brand new Moto G Power 2024 was washed away along with my wallet and all I owned. I had just ordered this to replace my ex's Zmax Pro and it came FRP locked. Took me days to bypass, but it's done. I recommended this phone to many in the past but never got one because of the locked bootloader. Now I find out there are ROMs for it? I feel like I missed a gem. Maybe late, but let's see what I can do with it. I'd hit you up on Telegram, but I can't make a new account until I can afford a new phone tomorrow. It will be a genevn since we now have trees for it. Talk to you tomorrow.
